Nunhead is one of London’s unique 'urban villages', a great shopping experience that only independent retailing can provide as well as being a vibrant shopping area serving the local community.
The name is first recorded in 1680 and is believed to be taken from a local inn named The Nun's Head.

One of Peckham’s great buildings, the multi-storey car park in Rye Lane, is set to continue as a creative and cultural centre for the long term, as Southwark Council has worked with local groups to agree its future.
Three projects, including Southwark Council’s trailblazer pilot, made it to the final to share a prize of £60,000 for their projects.
Southwark Smart Savers is entering its fourth year and has so far helped more than 1000 children across the borough start saving.
