Community Centre Consultation
13 February 2013
We aim to apply for planning permission this Spring for the proposed new homes (including council housing) and community centre on two sites to the south-west of the Green. Please come to discuss the developed plans!
4.30pm to 8.30pm
26 Nunhead Lane
Drop in any time to view and discuss proposals. Please note this is NOT the usual venue of Nunhead Library.
Southwark Council are making plans to build:
- a new community centre, designed with local group Nunhead’s Voice, and new family housing, on the Early Years site, known as SITE A (at the head of the Green by the Old Nun’s Head pub)
- and new council homes on the former community centre site, known as SITE B (between the chemist and Citron Terrace on Nunhead Lane).
After months of consultation, and very useful input from local residents and businesses, we are close to having developed schemes with which to apply for planning permission. Before we do that, we would like to discuss these with the local community.
This is likely to be the last consultation before planning. Given close engagement throughout the process, we hope that changes after this event will be relatively minor. But it’s important that we confer with you a final time, and share with you the ways in which, wherever possible, we have responded to local feedback. The revised designs that we submit to planning will then be displayed in the Nunhead Green pop-up shop.
