The Food Assembly
7 September 2014
Celebrating Local food, The Food Assembly launches in Nunhead
10.00pm - 1.00pm
The Ivy House
Bringing local producers of award winning products to consumers via convenient online shopping with a human touch.
Our launch event is an invitation to get to know the producers and wonderful food they create. There will be lots of tasters, a quiz with foodie prizes along with music, face painting and a trail for kids along with a chance to sign up on our website.
The Food Assembly is a new food model enabling people to buy local food directly from farmers and food producers online and collect the food from a local venue where they can meet the people who made it! The first Food Assembly took place in France in 2011 and there are now over 500 across France, Belgium and Spain. With many more set to pop up across the UK and London, including Hackney, Forest Hill, Brixton, Chester, and Gloucester all planned and more to come! Each assembly is uniquely different celebrating their local community and producers.
By bringing food producers and consumers together in a social way we hope to change the way we think about and buy our food for the better!
The Nunhead Food Assembly will be the third Food Assembly to launch in the UK. Regular distributions will take place on Sunday mornings between 10.00 and 12.00 allowing customers to drop by and pick up their food at the Ivy House on Stuart Road.
